I was told that my tanks is 19 gallons (U.K) but it looks too small. Can anyone help me to calculate the volume please?

It is 30" length, 15" high and 12" deep. How do I work out the capacity

Help!!! :(

Hi Kryten,

Had a look on google for "Tank Capacity Calculator" and then "Converter" to find the capacity and then convert to different units.

Your tank is 23 US gallons which is 87 Litres or 19 UK Gallons (or 1/2 barrel or 9.5 pecks or 153 pints or :D )

Bear in mind that these are approximate conversions and also that the capacity given for any tank is always the absolute maximum which you will never acheive due to substrate, rocks, plants, etc. plus you never fill it right to the brim.

Hope this helps, Eddie

A peck is roughly two gallons - obsolete Imperial measure :D Oh, and for those in Scotland a peck is 4 Lippies and 1/4 of a Firlot.

The converter HERE has loads of conversions including a lot of really obscure ones.

By the way Kryten, your tank is 3.332 ancient Roman amphoras :D :D :D

GL - I like the calculator but it seems to over do the volume a bit. My 60L tank comes out as 73L.....

Cheers, Eddie

Most of the calculators seem to 'over calculate' lol

I would say ur 30x12x15 tank will hold roughly 14 UK gals when its got gravel in :)
