Well my little sister is a panda fanatic and I would like to get some panda corys for her. But I'm unsure as to how sensitive they are. They'll be in hard water with mature media (2 years +). pH 6.5-7.

Would this be ok for them?

i myself have been researching them, and i guess it all depends how they were bred. most of the ones in lps were bred in china and therefore very sensitive. i would try buying them on aquabid or from a lfs that you trust.

Well the place that they are from is called Fishy Business. They only have like 3/4 stores. This is quite big and at a garden centre, they have lots of tanks and their fish are healthy and all. I'd probably trust them but I don't know how I would know where they came from. They all look ok in their tank.

Out of all the pandas I've had only 2 of them have died within the first week or two of getting them, the rest suffered a terrible fate at the hands of a relative left in charge whilst I went away, I had one survivor who was alone for a couple of months because neither of my lfs had them in(they only get them every few months) so I went to maidenhead aquatics in peterborough, got their last 3 and they are very healthy specimens.

Take a little longer acclimitising them and they should be fine, in my short experience with them I've found them to be virtually the same as any other cory, they haven't come across as sensitive at all, although I do keep theirs(and all my tanks) water very very clean(I try to keep the nitrates under 5, 20% bi weekly w/c).

Good luck :good: I'm sure your sister will adore them and they'll bring her hours of pleasure.
