How safe is Hydrogen Peroxide?

I don’t have root tab at the moment. Can I inject the substrate with liquid ferts? I saw lots of store selling syringes and needle for this.

No. The benefit of good quality substrate tabs is the very slow release of nutrients to the plant roots. Flourish Tabs do not release nutrients into the upper water column, which is why they benefit plants like swords but do not encourage algae. Liquid fertilizer dissipates into the water, and in excess can cause problem algae.

Can I use osmocote capsule instead? It seems to be a cheaper alternative at the moment.

Out of test kit atm.
High phosphates may be one of the leading causes of your plants turning brown. Try to get a PO4 kit soon so you can see where you stand.

For now, you can increase your weekly water changes by 10%.

I already do 70-90% daily water changes.

I just made my own root tab from Osmocote and empty capsule. Hopefully it’ll work...

Alright, got another surprise today!
I found this guy in this tank.
(Might be a proof that fish can be happy and breed in Iwagumi-like tank) I always wonder why my lemon tetras have weird behavior where they doesn’t swim and eat much for a week.

I have canister filter on and is now sucking in the fry what should I do? If I turn off the filter it will cause Ammonia imbalance. Should I move him to QT tank?

No, do not use osmocote. This fertilizer is intended for terrestrial plants, and their nutrient needs are different. For one thing, osmocote contains high nitrate and phosphate, and these should never be added to a tank with fish. [Again, high-tech planted tanks are a different thing entirely, just for the record; but osmocote is still not advisable.]

It won't work. The capsules dissolve pretty quickly (few minutes to an hour) when wet and then the fertiliser will be released.

If you want to use a land based plant fertiliser, put some gravel in a plastic container. Add a thin layer of plant fertiliser. Cover it with 6mm of red clay. cover that with an inch of gravel. Put plant in pot and when its roots hit the clay and fertiliser, it will take off. The clay will stop the fertiliser leaching into the water.
