How often should i feed my fishes?

I feed once a day with skipping 1 day each week

That depends on how much you are feeding them at each meal. You could feed one feeding once a day, or three smaller ones 3 times a day. I feed a bit in the morning, sometimes I'll feed a bit in the afternoon. Do NOT overfeed.

Is the tank filtered and has the filter cycled?

In an established tank with a fully cycled filter you normally feed the following:
Adult fishes that are not breeding get feed once a day.

Adult fishes that are breeding or being prepared for breeding get fed 3-5 times a day. More water changes and gravel cleans should be done when feeding them more often to keep the tank clean.

Baby and juvenile fishes should be fed 3-5 times a day and given enough food so their stomachs are fat and they look like pregnant guppies. Again, do more water changes and gravel cleans to keep the water clean.

Well, all of mine are ready to breed then. I feed morning and night. Yikes!

You can feed adult fish more often but once a day is usually sufficient. If the fish are new or sick, then you can feed them more often to help build them up. If you have happy mature fish and they are fed a lot, they will probably gain weight and get a little chubby.

Colin I've always fed mine twice daily and the last feed is at 4pm because that's when my cory get their tablets is that an ok time once daily?
Should be. I feed mine about an hour before bed

It is generally better to feed fish in the early part of their day, as opposed to near the end. By "their day" I mean the period of the tank lighting, which is the "day" to the fish. The reason for this is to ensure they properly digest food. If they are fed a huge meal and then the tank lights go out, they can have problems. It depends upon how "dark" it is obviously. But it is still best to feed earlier rather than later in the day so the fish will still be active (compared to their rest or sleep inactivity) and digestion will be normal.

As for nocturnal fish, if they are truly and fully nocturnal, meaning you never even see them during the day (I had a trio of woodcats that only came out after it was pitch black) then they need feeding after the tank is in total darkness, otherwise the other fish will get the food. If by nocturnal you mean fish like plecos and cories, they can be fed earlier in the day with the other fish. But if you need to feed after dark so they get the food, then same as for the woodcats, wait an hour after the tank is in pitch blackness. If there is ambient light in the room after the tank lights go out, that is not "darkness" and any upper fish will still be prowling about.

Mature fish (not fry) do not need feeding more than once a day, and missing a day or two or three does no harm. Most of these fish in their habitat do not eat anywhere near the amount we feed them on a daily basis. I went to one day a week of no food, and then to two days a week, spread out. I have spawning regularly, from cories to pencilfish to tetras.

Think I’ll go to A.M. feeding only. I will have to feed the plecos at night because they wait until dusk to show their faces.
