How Much Sand Do I Need...?

My tank will be 100L x 40D x 50H (CM)

I'd like my sand to be about 2" thick

Does anyone know how much sand i'd need to buy?

So the area that would be covered in sand would = 25000Cm

length x width x depth (of substrate) / 1000 = litres of sand needed.

if it comes in litres, then you just have to add the following on (taking 10l bag as an example)

l x w x d (of substrate) / 1000 / 10 = bags required.

All in cm.

Or on the practical fishkeeping mag website, they have lots of claculatorss, one of which works out how much substrate you need.
