How Much Salt ???

HELP...I got a 2 Gal. Tank to use as a Hospital tank but right now had to put Mama Guppy & her Female offspring in it to avoid any more fry than I already have. I just changed 1/2 the water last night as the Nitrate level was as high as it could go. But now, it's STILL High, should I add a Tablesp. of Aqu.Salt ??? How much Salt is tolerated by Guppies ??? Any other suggestions ??? THANKS !!!

I usually put about 1 teaspoon for 15 litres, but its not an exact science.

Do you mean nitrate (with an 'A') or nitrite (with an 'I'). Big difference: one is largely an inconvenient algae trigger, the other is a deadly poison. If you are not familiar with cycling a tank, please follow the link in my sig for a fuller explanation.

Whooooo Slow down there, LadySims. I don't understand which tank has the high nitrate reading. Is it your main tank or your 2 gal? And why do you want to add salt?
