I want to make a very small snail tank, perhaps with a little box meant for a betta. So...

-Is that creul (Not enought space)?

-Do they need buddies??

-What do they eat??

I was going to get one big snail and just add the little ones I'm finding in my 10 gallon.

they'll do fine where ever you put them!! and will do fine with betta's.

you could put them in a icecream tube if you want and watch them breed like crazy!! They'll fed on algae that grows on the surfaces.

Well I don't think I want them to breed so I can keep them in a small tank. But, what is an ice cream tube?? We don't have those in the states! ;)

What are the kinds of snails that need 2 sexes to breed? And do they come in albino form?

Thanks!

lol another snail fan!!!! dude snails suck :p
nah they'll live in anything mate.
you will be keen on this idea for awhile, but when they are breeding like crazy you regret it! :p i hate my snails! hehe but i got some clown loaches in there. I wake up in the morning and see snail shells everywhere, they are a good pest control :D

my snails mate like crazy, but it seems like the eggs are always infertile
better for me, i guess :)

Most apple snails need a male and female to breed.

Snails will get along with any fish that won't eat them. Bettas shouldn't be a problem.

Snails don't need friends, and some snails don't need freidns to reproduce as they are hermaphroditic. Others can change sexes as needed.

Most snails will eat just about anything. I wouldn't rely on them to only eat "garbage" or debris. Feed them things like cucummbers or lettuce from time to time. Though they will eat just about anything.

If you have a problem with snails over running your tank, there really is only one place to look for blame and that is at whomever is feeding. Snails breed in direct relation to the amount of food available. Feed a lot and you get a lot of snails. Don't feed so much and your snail population will remain under control.
