How Much Power?

Hey all! I have now had my D+D 24 gall running now for about a week. i was wanting to change the power head can any one recomend a good powerhead for this size tank, and when i do buy a new one will it be ok to just take the old one out and replace with the new?

For all flowrate coming from one powerhead? I'd go with either a Tunze Nanostream or a Seio M620

OK do both these powerheads come at the same flow rate or is their different sizes? Also do you know if maxi jet is ne good?

Maxis are just fine and no they do not have to be matched flowrates

Good pumps. Not quite as efficient as a Tunze, but much cheaper. Create a nice diffuse laminar flow. For a 24g I'd get the smallest model, M620

Well i went with the maxijet 1200, turned it on and it kinda blew my hermit crab away is t normal for them to be this strong? And which direction does every one point theirs in?

Yeah, maxis make a strong jet of water that will blow things away in its direct path. Best to point them at rocks or glass to deflect the flowrate into something more diffuse
