how much peat should i add to my filter??

HI, i was just wondering how much peat i should be adding to my 180 litre tank filter to lower my ph and also soften my water as my GH is 13 and KH is 6? Thanks.

I dont' know if there is a formula to this or not, but why not start with a little bit, then after a few hours, add a little more, and so on until you get the desired pH?

Remember, you want to make any changes very slowly, simply to avoid stress to the fish.

ok i'll try this but it hasn't made much of an effect as yet, just lowered ph by like 0.1 in 3 days

Is it better to add peat to my aquarium OR to get a bucket of conditioned water and add some peat to a stocking and let it ston in the bucket for a few days before adding to the tank until its at the right ph, softness etc???

Oh no, keep doing what you're doing. PH lowering is very gradual and can happen over the period of months. I'm currently using peat in my tank, and it's also barely lowered the PH.
