ive been feeding my dwarf puffer frozen blood worms and occasionaly some snails and he never gained any wait. i recently got some frozen brine shrimp which mine seems to love more than bloodworms but he still doesnt gain much wait. i usually give him about 10 brine shrimp once a day. is that enough or should i feed him more, the pics i find on the net always apear to be much plumper than mine.

how long have you had them? if you just got them were they fed live food at the lfs? my dps (and everything else in the tank for that matter) love the frozen bloodworms and seem not as interested in the frozen brine shrimp. sometimes i skip a day or 2 in feeding cuz i figure in nature they wouldn't always catch food everyday, but they always seem fat to me :dunno:

ive had him for about a month. he eats everything i give him he just doesnt gain any wieght. after feeding he has a nice round belly but the same time the next day hes back to his normal weight.

if you would have read you would have noticed that i said about 10 brine shrimp once a day.

Brine shrimp arent really nutritious and are rather a snack then a good substinance, I feed mine about 15-20 blood worms a day (hes a little pig) and about every other day ill cut back the blood worms and add about 5 snails. i wanted to try daphnia but the LFS only had some that looked rather old and poor.

mine doesnt really seem interested in brine shrimp, which is a shame because I have about 30 cubes of the stuff

If he is eating plentiful, and is anxious every day i wouldnt really worry too much, you could try adjusting his diet to feed a little more per day, but dont drastically change it.

I've been also fortunate that he will eat the blood worms even if they are listless at the bottom of the tank, he doesnt seem to really care

good luck

thanks for the help. mine unfortunetly wont eat blood worms once they have fallen to the gravel. what foods are good for dwarf puffers to eat?

same for me but lately mostly brine shrimp. my lfs also carries mysis shrimp and some other stuff but i dont remember what its called though. i guess ill just stick with what i have. itll last ATLEAST a month or to anyway :*) .
