Hi,
Ok so I added another female to my female community. She was in quarantine just to make sure she wasent sick. So I took my girls out, changed some stuff in the tank than added the new girl than the other girls.
The new girl - Nala is chasing everyone! And for sure this time she is a girl LOL She has a egg spot.
So when is it to much fighing?
Her and Divine and just going at it. Tail slapping and biting.
Thanks

She may just need to be alone. I have 1 of those, real nasty girls. I have tried 3 times to put her with a bunch of other girls. I have about 25 females, she is the only 1 that I have to keep alone.

Well I took her out. She was harassing Divine so bad. I think Divine bit her real hard though because he side looks weird... Damn it!
Thanks for the advice manyfish4me :)

fin niping in a female community is normal and ok up too a point, jaw locking, and hard body shots are the kind of bites u gotta watch out for.

I was having the same problem last week. I added some new girls to the tank and one of them was very aggressive towards the older girls as well as the other new girls. There was some biting going on but now a week later it seems they have figured out their places and things are calm again. Still though there are times when there are nipped fins and scales missing but not very often.

Its just so weird because the 4 that are in there right now, 3 of them are sisters, the other one came from another store and they accepted her :)
Nala (the girl I tried to add) was just so vicious towards them. I had to get her out. I didnt want to chance open wounds (can that happen?) and infection.
IMO they were having some hard body shots. What exactly is jaw locking?
