How Much Current Is Too Much With Spraybar?

hooked up my new canister filter on the planted tank today, was getting hacked at my HOB biowheel. But anyways, i had to turn down the spraybar some as it was putting out a massive current through the tank. So question is how much is too much with the spraybar?

You can "disperse" the current some by drilling extra holes and sending it in different directions. However, if the filter is too big for the tank, nothing will help. that means you would have two choices; get a lower flow model or get a bigger tank

Aim the holes of the spray bar back towards the side of the tank it's attached to. The side of the tank will diffuse the flow.
