I obviosuly don;t have enough and Seffie did suggest I get more in my journal

I have three red hermits, one halloween, 1 Sally Porter crab a couple of turbo snails, loads of dove snails and little bristley stars

I suffer a fair bit from diatoms and algae, how much CUC should I have, any suggestions?

cheers Simon

Buy yourself a fighting or orange lipped conch for those diatoms - if you are getting hair algae get yourself a large mexican turbo :good:

hair algae isn;t an issue just a little bit on my powerhead which is where the blenny spends his spare time, he has a munch on that

its the diatoms. I think it looks ugly so I'll look out for a conch, I;ve never seen one for sale though

There are a few rules like Nemo said I have found its best to add a few in at atime until they have your problem under control.

Ceriths are great for doing sand they will also do the glass at night.

Conches are one of the best members of the CUC u can have in my opionion Orange Lipped are my prefered over fighting.

Turbos are good so are Banded Trochus are better

You could add another couple of hermits or even an Emerald Mithrax also a Pincushion urchin these are very good munchers
