well, i lately had a craving for salt and am considering a 20 gallon tank, please tell me how much i can stock this, if at all

you can stock in a 1/2 gallon, so of course you can in this.

I'd say 2 clowns, maybe... or a fire dart fish. It all depends. Reasearch before anything. and 20 is nano. you'll do better in that section :good:

Holy ####, you stay away from fish, lest they end up in jars

I really hate topics like these. I did a year of research before setting up my reef tank, and that still wasn't enough considering I have had 2 crashes. You simply cannot expect to setup a marine tank a soon as you get an urge to do so. Furthermore, marine tanks under 33 gallons are very hard to keep from swinging around (stat wise).

If you are a beginner to saltwater, you could perhaps have a couple nano fish, and several corals.
Often quoted, the following statement is all too true:
"Beauty takes time, but disaster comes quickly!"

Do a lot of research (the pinned topics would be a good place to start) or consult an expert.
A user that frequents this forum, who is masterful at maintaining tiny tanks, is Donya :good:
It would be a good idea to contact her.

If I seem harsh here, it's because I am trying to be. I am sick and tired of people coming on here and saying things like "How many nemos can I put in a ten gallon", then receive a reply saying you can't; and then do it anyways. It's tiring to see fish die :(

no no, there's actually a half gallon that can suite one fish and a shrimpt in my lfs, and the live stock in corals alone with live rock and sand in there totals to about 200. It's really amazing what you can do with it.

I'm sure there are a few, if not 1, specific breeds. And it's a display, not for sale.

It just depends on the size of the fish you wanna add.

A Clown maybe.
