would it hurt anything if i did a 20% change daily?

Jason

I do one every other day, but if they need it every day, why not? As long as its only small, mine dont get stressed out at all, they dont even seem to notice, there used to it now lol...

I think regular water changes keep the water fresh and clear, and its gotta be better for the fish, than swimming around in wee and poo right?

i dont plan on doing that many for too long, i was away from my tank for 3 months. My roommate doesnt know much about taking care of the fish so he kind of slacked off. i just want to get the tank back to good condition.

If the water hasn't been changed in three months, I'd do a 50 percent water change asap. And then follow up with a 20-30 percent in a couple of days.

oh right.. i thought you were planning on doing it all the time!

just wondering.. i'd test the water, to get an idea of what it is like, then do a 50% change then test the water maybe tomorrow, and then you can gage whether you need to change again.. save time.. and water!!

hope all your fishies are ok!! :)

qwazy101,

The author of one of the books I've been reading swears by weekly 50% water changes and claims there is no added stress on the fish at all. I'll check the book and post the authors name soon.
