If used with a different male, or the same male. How long between spawns does a female betta really need?

I leave my girls for at least a month, maybe longer depending on how bad the last spawning session was.

Sometimes it will take days before they finally get around to spawning and that is quite exhausting on both male and female's, plus the male's (and sometimes females) can get quite aggressive.

Thanks but nevermind guys. I've decided that I'm not going to bother spawning again for atleast a few months. So I'm going to give her a rest in a 10g and find some ok tank mates.

Ogrt48, they don't die in the rivers in the Philippines like they would in a NY river! The climate is OK for them there. So it's not the same at all.
Here in the US we'd get in trouble if we released anything that could survive overwinter in a river! It would affect the natural balance of the ecosystem when they bred and competed with the natural inhabitants. Very different. It would not be taken so lightly at all.

Heh yeah I figured that. I guess I just get to attached to my fish just to say to em, " screw you, you don't put out anymore i'm tossing you out" =\

The second line in my post was meant more for crackers benefit than yours, Ogrt. Sorry I didn't clarify that. My heads not on straight tonight or something. I probably didn't say anything that would be new information for anyone. Heh. :look:
