How Many Snails?

Hello...was wondering how many snails I can have in a 120 litre tank?

Also

How many shrimp

I have a 120 litre tank with:

7 neon tetra
2 Blue Rams
4 shrimp already
5 cories

well i have a 10 gallon tank with 3 mystery snails in it. so u could probably put 10 small snails in urs. but make sure u put some lettace in the tank because with that many snails ther won't be enough food.[dont use ice berg lettace, it has no food value at all]. and to tell u how many shrimp it would depend on what kind and size u would be geting.

Ghost Shrimp are VERY cheap and can live like 1 year or so. I would Advise Ghost Shrimp for beginners! They eat The left over flakes on the bottom. But beware some of your Cichlids might try to eat them. Make sure your tank is NOT planted when you get the Apple Snails because they will tear it up in a matter of days! So make sure you put some non-iceberg lettuce in there every few days.

I have a fully planted tank with apple snails. Mystery snails to be exact, and they do not eat my plants, only dead leaves. They also eat lettuce, zuccini, and spinach (which is great because it is high in Calcium) I have blue, purple and gold mystery snails. here is a great website for you about snails. Do I have to blanch the spinach and lettuce before putting it in the tank??

Does this apply to all green leaved snail foods?

Also should I buy some type of calcium thing to put in the tank for their shells?

They arrived abit battered from Royal mail...typical so need all the help they can get....

You don't have to but they seem to eat it faster if you blanch it first.

I now have about 10ish snails and 22ish shrimp.....how many times should I feed them a week?

just chuck a bit of lettuce, spinach and cucumber in there once a week, a bit of flake every few days, should be fine.

I have both snails that are yellow completely and also some that are browy yellow with darker brown stripes...are they two subspecies of apple snail and will they breed together???

Or do they have to have a "mate" of the same colour to breed?

If they're the same species they can breed together.

I'm guessing you have the golden and striped golden P. bridgesii. They'll lay their eggs above the water, so make sure they have some room if you want them to breed.

They are probably brigs, brigs come in a lot of different colours. They may however be canas, you will be able to tell as canas will demolish any plants in the tank and brigs will not.
