Hi,

I was going to use it as a home for a male betta, but looking at it now I am thinking I could use it as a 'shrimp house'..

How many could I keep in there? Would i be able to breed them? * coz i really like the idea of loads of female shrimp and one 'shrimp daddy'*

Thanks, D.

i would start off with 15 as loong as the tank is mature and has java moss and you have a few good males you should soon increase your numbers

They're teeny-tiny and don't contribute much to the bioload, so it's doable with good maintenance. I wouldn't keep more than ~50 in there, though, but that's just my opinion.

they will stop breeding when the shrimps think that there is a rather cramped population,
What, just suddenly stop?

So I could put maybe 4 females in and one male, my shrimp daddy and as soon as they felt cramped they would just stop altogether until I got rid of some?

Pretty much. Mine were still breeding before I moved them to the 40gal and actually stopped for a while even they had much more space.
