Have you checked the bottom of your shoe?
I feed my betta Nutrafin Max Complete Pellet Food for All Tropical Fish. It's the mini floating pellets. They are quite small and hardly expand when touched by water. I fed my betta about 5 already...and he's still hungry, believe me. :p He's been picking old flakes off his stones all morning and spitting them out cause they're soggy..

So, roundabout, how many should I be feeding him?

wow, five? in one setting, that's only how much i feed my bettas a day! 2 in the morning, one in the afternoon, and two at night.

my female eats about 15 bio gold every day  i just get some water and stick the pellets to the bowl, and if shes hungry, she will jump and get them

Oh Boy! :/ I feed my Boy about 12-14 pellets a day of Bio Gold too! Is that too much? I just followed the directions  And believe me, he could eat 15 more!

I feed my boys 3 pellets in the morning and 3 at night. My girls get 2 pellets in the morning and 2 at night. Am I feeding to little? ;)

from all of the research I've done, bettas are a lot more prone to bloat and dropsy and swim bladder issues if they are fed too much dried food. I have heard the reccomended feeding is 5 pellets per day. It is easier on their digestion to split it up. I, too do the 2 in the morning, on ein evening, 2 at night for each of my bettas.

The feeding instructions are there because that is how many the betta can safely eat in a day. The package says that so you will use more, thus, buy more.

I generally feed mine 5 Bio-Gold pellets once or twice a day. They will always beg for more, of course, but that's plenty to fill their little tummies :)

I feed mine Spectrum Thera+ A. The pellets are a bit smaller than the standard Betta pellets I used to feed them. My guys get 3-4 pellets in the AM and 3-4 pellets in the PM. They eat them up so fast sometimes I don't think it's enough for them, but they're all big and healthly looking so it must be plenty. :p :p

Honestly, you just have to remember that bettas' stomachs are about the size of their eye. Feed them according to that. I feed my guys ~6 pellets a day. All in the morning. It really all depends on the size of the pellets, too and also on the size of the fish. My one boy is quite small and usually only eats 5 while some others eat 7-8. I just shake a bunch into my sorority because all the fish seem to eat them.

Also remember, that mammals use food to stay warm. Fish are cold blooded, can't make their own heat, so food isn't as vital to them as it is to us. Don't base how much you feed them on how mammals eat.

I feed 3 Hikari bio gold baby pellets in the AM and 2 at night to my male betta.

From my experience fish always act hungry. I think I killed my gold fish in the past from over feeding them.

Also have heard a hungry fish is a healthy fish.

I feed mine Pro's Choice Floating Betta pellets... and I feed 4 a day. One at about 7:30 after I have breakfast, then one at about 8:20 just before I leave for school. Then two about an hour apart in the late evening.

Am I the only one with a schedule? :p
