Err, from the page you linked...

>>> this filter is rated at 1200 lph.

... what exactly do you mean?

I "think" he means for the media. I'm not 100% sure, but when you have to buy media for some of the Eheim filters, it says "for xxx litres of filter" (1l, 5l, etc.)

But sorry I'm not sure about that filter  (if that's what you meant in the first place).

1200 liters is 263 UK Gallons or 317 US gallons per hour. Typically you want to turn over the water in you tank 3-4 times an hour so that makes it suitable for tanks around 60 UK Gallons or 75 US gallons, with a fairly wide error margin.

Hiya,

Be careful with the Jebo range. The build quality is variable to say the least. One of my mates returned four units before he got one that didn't rattle, rumble, leak, hum, or stop all by itself!

If you really must have a cheap filter, buy a Fluval. Buggers to prime, but reliable none-the-less.

IMHO anyway

ps, thats not to say that Charterhouse are no good at customer service, the exact opposite is true, they excell, its just that some of the kit is a little pants :D

Story of life really, you get what you pay for. I only use Eheims, and then, not the cheapy Ecco range.

Yep,

I agree LL, however, there are many of us out here who just cant afford the top line kit. Maybe its about time that we voted on a definative quality low price, mid price, and high end internal/external filter variant?

We all know about the Eheims being the top dog, as I have already stated, hows about the rest?

Anybody for a vote poll?

Is spending less money on something that is going to give a short life full of trouble really an economy?

As for brands, there are so many, and many of them are only regionally available. Many of the US makes we see discussed in here have never been marketted in Europe for example. I suspect if you try for the definitive cheap filter, you'll end up with several suggestions all keenly supported by a geographically local group.
