I'm just trying to plan ahead. I only have 12 fry at this time but my other females are soon to pop. and with 4 females giving birth to a minum of 12 fry a month... that's 48 fry each month. My LFS will buy them once the male's tails start getting larger... so I'm think at least 3 months.

So how many 3-5 month old fry can I contain in a 10 gallon tank? The tank will be bare running a Penguin 170 filter with bio-wheel. The filter is overkill for the size of tank but this is so that I can put as many fry as I possibily can in there.

So how many juveniles do you guys think?

Here's a scary thought.. as the female get older, their broods will get larger. A guppy at her peak can have up to 40 fry in one birth!

I've heard they can actually have over 100...my guppy just had over 50 :)

What are you guys doing with all those fish?! Has anyone had any luck selling 1 month old fish to anyone? I see one listing for 5 fry on aquabid.com. Who else will accept fry?

I supply a local fish store with semi-adult guppies(about 7 months old) and get paid $1.50 per guppy. It's not a lot but it covers the basic costs to raise them. :) Before i moved though, I put a ad at our radio station website saying i was selling them and sold lots that way too.
