I've got a 20 litre tank (5 gallons) how many guppies would I be able to keep in there? I was thinking about 3 or 4? would that be to many or would I be able to keep a couple more?

thanks.

It's on the small side for guppies, really- they do like to swim around and explore. How about going for endlers instead? You could keep 5 male guppies in there, but it's not ideal.

ok so i've searched nearlly every local pet store here and none of them sell endlers. So i'm just going to get the guppies for my 5 gallon tank. Planning on getting all males so they don't breed and because they look incredible. So how many should I get? I was thinking of maybe getting a small cory for the bottom just to clean up the extra food would that be alright?

You might get away with about 4 or 5 guppies but as for the cories I'm not sure. I understand that they prefer to be kept in small groups and not on their own. I'm sure someone else will be able to help you out though. :)

ok thanks looks like the guppies may be on there own then.

You could probably get away with a couple of ottos in there, I have 2 in my guppy tank. Very peaceful and they only grow to about 5cm. Hope this helps. :)

you dont want one cory and 4 guppies. it will be crowded and the cory will be lonley. i have one cory who used to have a partner but it died im planning on getting another but he is realy unhappy

well you could fit 6 guppys
its best to have 1 male to 2 females
1 :2
biut in your case
2:4 anyway round about 6 will fit

that's if you want to be overrun with baby fish

unless you have spare tanks for growing on the babies and a fish store that will buy them from you when they're grown then I'd recommend getting all males :) they're the pretty one's with colourful tails :D
