How many gallons is my pond?

Hey,

I have a garden pond that is 2.5m x 1m x 1m 1.5. How many gallons is that?

Currently in the pond there is:

1 x Shiro Utsuro Koi (5inch)
1 x Shubunkin (6inch)
4 x Goldfish (5 inches)

So what sort of options do i have for adding to my stocklist?

you need to take the cubic footage, and multiply by 6, to give you gallons.

bit confused by your measurements as you have 4 figures up there but if its 2x1x1 thats 550 uk gallons

a 6ft x 4ft pond will, in theory, support 360cm (144ins) of fish, equivalent to 36 individuals averaging 10cm (4ins)long, but, in practice, you should have only about a dozen this will depend on filtration and waterflow etc,the better the filtration and airiation you have you can get away with a few more than the norm

Litres: 3750
US Gallons: 990.75
UK Gallons: 825

If they are 2mx1mx1m then your pond holds -

Tank Capacity:
Litres: 2500
US Gallons: 660.5
UK Gallons: 550



As Bri has said the stocking options really depend on filtration, airation and fish species. But you can get away with a 5-7 more fish like Goldfish, RUdd and Tench. However, I wouldn't advise any more Koi, the pond is to small for a fully grown adult.

Not at all ryan if you'd like to strip and jump in mine ,I'd let you just let me borrow a camera with a zoom first

Lol thanks, dnt worry the koi is only temporary. I was thinking abt orfe?

I'd leave out the Orfe, they require very high oxygen levels and can easily reach the sizes fish like Koi obtain.
