I was gonna get a Rio 180 but not sure if it would be too heavy for my bedroom floor :( Plus the stand isnt exactly the best for distributing weigh over a wide amount of space lol. Google Metric Conversions, thats what I use to work these thing out

ive got a rio 180 in my first floor bedroom, not problem. im putting a 125/150gal in a 3rd floor flat this summer.

Knox, Google is your friend. Try typing "180 litres in US gallons" into a Google search tool and it returns 47.5509694 US gallons. You can do similar things with temperatures, lengths, etc.

180l = 40 imperial gallons or 48 US gallons (I work in imperial gallons as I'm in the UK not the USA)

Don't forget that a 180l tank does not hold 180l of water. You need to knock off a bit for water displacement due to decor, substrate etc and remember that you don't fill it to the very brim.

Your tank will hold about 150/160l of actual water = 35 imperial gallons or 42 US gallons so this is what you need to use when planning stock levels.

By the way, there is a calculator section on the forum -

Mine was going to be in my room. But my mom thought the amount of sockets i needed would blow up my room due to the amount of eletric in there (well fuse blow... Not the room  )

When you have put the substrate in, decor etc, measure from the top of the substrate to the top water line, then use the calculator on the forum, it will give you a more accurate answer as to how many gallons it is once filled.

:good: should be about 170 litre's as i did't overload the tank with gravel. :good:
