I have a 64l tropical fish tank, it already contains 6x black widow tetras, 5x black neon tetras, 3x peppered corys and i am soon getting 3x cherry shrimp. overall there are 14 fish in the tank and 3 shrimps, how many more fish should I get? what other fish should i get? what other fish are recommended to get?

I would go for a couple of brightly coloured fish :)

Something like a pair of Honey Gouramis or a trio of male platies would look lovely!

I would first recommend upping the group of corydoras - should be in groups of 6 at least (of the same kind). But I feel you will soon, if not already, pushing the limits of a 64 liter tank. (is roughly 16-17 gallons for anyone else who chimes in)

I was told that a group of 3 corys was sufficient, is it vital that they are in groups of 6 or would a group of 3-4 suffice?

It is about happiness and comfort - 6+ is definitely preferable and their personalities and antics really blossom in larger groups.

Honestly, your tank is overstocked already and I wouldn't put anything more than this because you'll just end up killing them all indirectly eventually.
