How many discus in a 48 Gal tank?

I currently have 3 discuses in my 48 gal tank right now and they’re already paired up and layed eggs lots of time and not succesful with it, I wanna add more females to the tank so one of my male can pair with her.

How many discuses in 48 gal tank?

Ideally a 48 is too small for discus as they are a shoaling fish that belong in groups and a 48 is way too small for a group of. discus.
Most i would go is 2 in a bonded pair for breeding and thats it.
