im scared of overdosing my fish with anti ich meds

how many days should i treat my aqaurium for?

I'm not sure on your particular brand of ich med you are using, but generally speaking its advisable to treat the tank for 2-3weeks minimum when treating for ich. The ich med shouldn't be harmful to your plants unless it states otherwise on the box.

You should treat three consecutive days in a row, and then do a 20% water change.

Don’t be fooled when you see the ick start to fall off you may think it cured when it is in the curable state. They fall off the fish into the gravel and start to multiply; this is when the medication works. So depending on how bad the ick is I would treat for a week if it’s not to bad but if it’s really bad treat for two weeks.

Ick is such a pain! It's easy to cure but it's just a royal pain. If you don't have any salt sensitive fish I would add some salt as well.
