how many corys should i have? i've been told no less than 5 and i've been told no less than 3. which is it please? thanks for any replies in advance

Personly id say 3 is minimum but 4 is better :) just remember, the more you keep (space permitting) the happyer these fish will be. So the real question is, how comfortable and happy do you want yours to be? :)

i'd be happy to put as many as i have the space for. i like the little guys. i just don't know how many i can fit. i have a 20 gal tall with, i think, 12x18 footprint. i have 2 skunk corys in there now. i bought 2 on my lfs advice. they're usually spot on but not this time. i haven't been able to find another to add.

i also have a 60 gal square-ish with a 30x18 footprint. i have 3 green aeneus corys in there know. i'd be happy to add more but it is a cichlid tank so i worry about the waste until i get a good canister filter on there.

i really appreciate any advice i can get. :)

So you cant find anymore skunk cory's? It'd be good to get them atleast 1 more friend :) ideally 2/3!

it's wierd right? i have been looking for another skunk cory for about 3 weeks now. i just can't seem to find one. it's a bit frustrating

Tried ordering them online? Alot of people do that :) might be worth looking into. Good luck!

Hi Tobigara :)

When it comes to corys, it's almost always a case of, "The more the merrier."

Depending on what kind of fish, and how many of them you have in the smaller tank, I'd consider putting the two species of corys together. Cichlids are not usually the best tankmates for them since aggression is a factor to consider with the defenseless corys.

i agree, the more the merrier if the tank can support that. they like to swim in groups.

Hi lighter,

It's been quite some time since I've seen one of your posts. It's good to see you again and I hope you visit us, here in corys, more often in the future. :D

I believe I read that skunks don't breed well in the aquarium. if at all. That makes them harder to find. CorysRUs has some lovely skunks. I just got some. They are wild caught and quarantined and treated well.

I am assuming your Jersey is in the States???

If you have other than the dwarf apistogramas you should definately move the Corys. Cichlids are not a good combination with Corys unless they are dwarf Cichlids. I'm not sure about Rams. But any aggressive fish is not compatible with Corys.
