do you quarantine (for want of a better word) plants for before putting them in your tank? Or does it vary according to source?

I never have done.

But you can give just a quick rinse under the tap to remove any copper treatments when its from a dealer, and the same applies to when its from someone elses tank, just incase of a disease.

make sure you rinse thoroughly if you have shrimp. i lost all but 3 of mine last time i bought plants :(
i generally leave the plants in a bucket of fresh water whilst i decide what to do with them or have a cup of tea and then rinse under the tap before they go in the tank

Don't quarantine plants, but do check all the fish in the plant tanks for disease as if I was buying fish.

Don't have shrimp so not an issue.
Plants currently sitting in a bucket in the kitchen, will plant them this evening hopefully, once kids are in bed.
Around 60 in total so gonna take a while! lol
