How Long Would This Tank Last

i have a 180g tank
i have 1 8in arowana
and 1 6in clown knife
both fish can grow larger then 3 feet (yes i know)

i want to put about 10 african syclids and thos 2 fish in that tank from what im told there is no problem with the syclids for life but how long will it take the aro to out grow the tank becuase he would probly have to be around 20inces to not fit in that tank.

what kind of cichlids? BIG ones or smaller ones. small ones will be eaten. i cant answer the growing question. Paul or CFC should be able to answer that one for you

I presume that it is a silver arowana?

Fish growth varies depending on genes, diet, water quality and tank size but as a rough time estimate i would say you have 18-24 months tops before that tank is too small.

I advise against the african cichlids in the tank. Stick with the arowana and ghost for the 18-24 months. Then you need a larger tank. You can take that tank and then get african cichlids.
