Added water to my tank yesterday and the overall look is still slightly cloudy.

Not too bad it just looks like a faint mist. Will this clear in time with the filter running and how long should it take (tank is 180l)?

Thanks

Yeah,

washed it a bit first. Probably not enough though.

When would it be safe to transfer my fish from my existing tank?

I washed my sand for about an hour and it was a bit cloudy for about 12 hr. It can take a day or two to settle and get filtered out. It will take longer if you did not clean it well.

I will give it another 12/24 hours before I consider adding the fish.

Hopefully that will clear it.

:)

got some in, I shall add some more?

Got a juwel filter but ot enough sponges to fill every space? (only 4 out of 6)

i had no bother with cloudy water, i didnt even rinse the sand , it was clear in under 12 hrs, i used the lfs for my sand , it was quite expensive , what sand have you used ?

is this a new tank ? has it been cycled ?

Not cycled no.

I just plan to move my mature filter media from the old tank to the new one with the fish.
