How long does a particular size CO2 tank last before requiring a refill? Please post your CO2 tank size and your aquarium size. I'll assume everybody aims for 30ppm CO2.

2kg bottle.
660litre tank.
3 months so far and hardly used any.

So if I were to get a 2.5 lb bottle for a 30 Gal tank I would be good for a couple months? Wow That's better than I thought. Now it's getting real tempting to get rid of my DIY setup.

A 2kg bottle is a little over 4lbs. 660 liters is approximately 175 gallons. So I would say a 2.5lb bottle would last your 30 gallon a couple months. However, the more plants you have, the more c02 you will need to get a steady rate of 30ppm.

My co2 is only lasting about 4 weeks if I am lucky, since I changed to my 160ltr heavily planted tank.
My Kh is 14 so I really need to inject a lot of bubbles to keep the PH at about 7.2-7.4.
I am glad you asked this question as I was worried about how much I was using and checked the whole system for leaks ( there were none).
