I'm a busy guy, but have an investment in fish, so I try to spend as long looking at them, as I can...
I usually get an hour at 1st light, a few minutes during the day, here and there, and about a half hour again, before the lights begin going down, in the evening... I wish I had more time...
how about you???

I estimate I’m observing my fish for about an hour per day. On any given day I spend more time looking at certain tanks more than others. But by week’s end I have spent equivalent time with all of them.

I go out to the fishroom for an hour most mornings. If I have no obligations, that can stretch to 2 or 3. I'm usually back in there in the evening, for varying lengths of time. I take a walk through and check all the tanks at least twice a day, but will often crab a chair and have a longer look at one or two specific tanks daily, to see what's going on.

Water changes take about 45 minutes three times a week, so that time is good for checking but not for watching.

I'm not a media person - not many videos and almost no TV other than occasional sports watching. When I do sit down in front of a tank, unless something special is going on, I usually see something to fiddle at or adjust. My wife does watch a lot of streams and really enjoys them, so when she wanders off into her streams, I wander out to my streams.

Before I was retired, I had the lights set to go out at midnight and worked on (it was a side gig back then) and enjoyed the fish from about 9PM.

I think an honest hour a day just sitting and watching . I read in my fishroom because it’s quiet and I look up at the fish at times when I’m chewing on something I’ve read . I’m in there another hour a day feeding and messing with live food cultures . After feeding each aquarium I watch the fish eat before moving on to the next one . I like fish behavior and the most interesting behaviors are at feeding time . I never tire of watching my Aplocheilus lineatus eat flies . It gets Wild Kingdom when they eat flies . Come to think of it I must be in there almost 2 1/2 to 3 hours a day . It’s great being retired and having the time . Working full time doesn’t give that luxury .

I don't really have a certain time frame that I'll be watching my fish. When I'm on my computer, I see at least two nano tanks. Two are on my desk and one of them is beneath my screen.

Same for me. A few minutes before going to work, more time including feeding at early evening, some more until lights out, and then until the next day. On weekends I spend more time and do water changes, but then there is everything else that needs doing. The life of a regular guy.

many of my tanks are around my bed, I don't lose any sleep over it, but they could be watching me all night😉, I don't count maintenance in my viewing time

Not counting feeding them, I’d say between thirty and sixty seconds on a good day. It’s not that I don’t want to, but I’m usually pretty busy with other stuff.

My "river-ish" tank is next to my computer, so I watch them in frequent snippets throughout the day. My 75g is across the room & I watch it less but more than my other 2 tanks in another room. 1 has nocturnal fish, no plants; 1 is just plants, no fish & is my most ignored tank. It always needs weeding & at least refilling. To my casual look I see an end if I pay attention when walking down a hallway toward the kitchen.

Fish are in a central room in the house, between the kitchen and family room. I read in the fish room, we play a game of scrabble there, morning coffee. Three to four total daily. Sometimes more.

Depends; it takes me about 90 minutes a day to feed everyone so i guess that is 'watching' time; and i spend around 9 hours a week doing maintance/water change so i guess that is 'watching' time. And the 600 is right next to my desk where i spend a lot of time so that is a lot more time watching the fishes in the 600 (that is my loach/chocolate/festivum) aquarium. My geo actually don't get much watching time and quite frankly i kind of regret having them as they are kind of boring. My winkelfleck is at the end of the room across from my b. cupido aquarium but both of those are worth watching. And now and then i watch when something interesting happens downstairs like this:

These guys are both lovely and interesting. Don't you agree ?

I mentioned that i don't pay much attention to my geo so i went over to take a look at them and discovered this mess:

There are a whole mess of these and they are already around 1/4 of an inch....
