how long do mollies live?

how long do they live? i heard about a year is this true because it sounds rather short?!

Live bearers in general should live 3-5 yrs, but many factors reduce this(inbreeding, weak strains, longe transportation, etc) to about 2 yrs lifespan. I owned a guppy that lived to be 2 yrs.
