I got a Gibbiceps sailfin a while ago at my lfs, and was told that he would stay small for three years or so. Obviously this wasn't the case and he's nearly trebbled his size in just a few months. The moral of the story is to check before you buy, but we live and learn.
My wife has grown quite attached to him and it seemed a real shame to give away such a wonderful fish. The tank we bought him for was far to small for his needs so instead of giving him to someone we've gotten a new and much bigger tank. The tank has been running about two and a half weeks, and there have been some fish in for about five days. I would note that I will always supplement his diet with other goodies, but I need to know the answer to this question:
Should I wait a certain ammount of time to transfer him (to allow algae to build) or would it be ok to transfer him any time supplementing his diet with algae wafers and cucumber?
Many thanks,
James.
