Hello everyone, I just got 2 female guppies and 1 male and put them in a 10 gallon tank in hopes that they will breed. They are fancy guppies. When should I expect that they are expecting? I heard it happens fast, but my guppies seem like they are only schooling together. He hasn't been chasing them around like I've read online.

If you got them from the pet store, then there is a good chance your females could be pregnant already. But, with mine, it seems to take about 1-2 weeks for a new virgin female (of age) to become pregnant, then about another 4-6 weeks before the fry are born.

The female probably is already pregnant. The male you got will try to mate with her to make sure the fry are his. If she gives birth, and the male does not mate with her within 24 hours, she will use sperm from the last mating. My guppy female gave birth once every 20 - 25 days.

Alright thanks for the Answers, I watch my tank like a hawk and see no signs of pregnancy yet. And they were in different tanks so there's 0 chance I got the females pregnante, although that would have been nice.

If you had virgin guppy females and placed them with a male, you could safely remove the male the next day and collect fry from both females about 4 weeks later. Guppies are prolific. There is a reason that they are called millions fish where they occur naturally.

Alright thank u guys for the help, although I've ran into a much bigge problem. One of the guppies I put in my community tank has ich :( so now this is my next problem so breeding my guppies will be put on hold because I had to use my breeding tank as a hospital again. So now both of my tanks have it. I'm going to post a new thread about this problem and try this again in a few weeks

You treat ich where you find it. It is a parasite that is passed from fish to fish by having the parasite drop off one fish, develop the free swimming stage over a couple of days and then infest any available host. If you move a fish with ich, you now have 2 tanks that need to be treated, the one it came from and the one you put it in. Even if you see no signs of ich in either tank, you will see it a few days later unless you start treatment immediately.
The tank that the ich infested guppy was removed from needs to start an immediate treatment course. If you got very lucky that treatment will take care of the ich infestation in it within a week or less but it will likely be still getting treated when your breeding tank is finished.
