How Fast Does A Common Pleco Grow?

I wanna know if I have a commom pleco or not? It's not black. I've had it for around a month and it's only a few inches. It's fat though.

In a decent sized tank, with good diet and plenty of water changes, easily an inch a month to begin with. They tend to slow down once they hit mid-size, but you can expect 12" in the first year.
