just finalizing what i would like in my tank and i have come up with the following:

2 Ocellaris.clowns
1 royal gramma
1 red firefish
1 clown goby

and a year down the line if i feel the tank will be okay to support one

a spotted mandarin

Sounds alright to me, i would b tempted to swap the fire fish to a purple or another fish though. Purple ones are a lot more confident and outgoing. Red ones are really shy and skittish.

yeah i was looking at a purple one the other day, albeit the price difference!

i saw a bluey purple one the other day it was a beauty, might see if i can get one for my tank ;)

Looks good Truck, must admit agree with Ben, Purple are much nicer :good:

Saw an amazing looking orchid dotty back the other day, awsome :good: was tempted

How about hanging on for that rare fish, the one that only comes along occassionaly, rather than rushing in a getting the same old, same old ?

So
2 x clowns (got to be done)
Space for the Mandy
Rare fish - one you really love but have to track down and wait for, maybe one you have to save up for (the hunt is half the fun)

Is a Royal Gramma and Clown Goby a good idea? Similar body shape and similar colour to a fish known to be agressive to similar shaped/coloured fish ???? I would probibly do a lot more research into that one before going ahead...

Just note, marine stocking isn't one of my strong points, so they may well be safe. It can't hurt to get it checked before trying it though.

All the best

aye seffie the orchid dottyback. i was looking at these and these were a back up for the royal gramma if that wouldnt work. both very different colours at the opposite end of the colour spectrum, so all should be well with these. but then again the magenta and royal dottyback take my fancy too as does the diadem dottyback.

for a rare fish the ones on the list are:

peliciers plectranthias
blue or yellow assessor (blue preferably) thanks trod!

this is how it is looking...

2 ocellaris clowns
1 orchid dotty back
1 clown goby (green or yellow)
1 rarity
1 striped mandy

That is a fab list if i do say so myself :good: darn, that orchid dotty back is calling me  Truck how much was the one you saw - the one in my lfs is £30

haha sell your xbox how long have you had it for. mine broke last week and all my mates have broken within the past 3 months get rid of it before it is worth nothing haha. i like the manderin idea but definatly wait because when i stupidly rushed into one of my tanks i put him in after 2 months down the line. was not enough copods for him to feed so he starved R.IP. are you having a sump. if so you could build up a little population of copods in there. good luck anyway and definatly sell the xbox haha

its an elite so shouldnt brake, and i would get a good £160 ;)

no sump but i going for a partational fuge made from black acrylic so cope pods would thrive in there, and ill get a colony going too! :)

ill be waiting a year though.

yes wait for him haha. if you sell your xbox you can sell the games aswel get more money haha. if you have a hard drive thats even better haha. have you got a buyer for the xbox or are you trading it in. why is it that manderins do not accept frozen foods. if they did i bet most people would have them in their auarium. what type of manderin are you planning on getting

yeah i dont think my mum would be too happy if i did. but i would ebay it with a reserve.

just the way it is lol with the mandy.
im after a blue striped mandy

depends what dottyback, some are aggressive.
Tank bred orchid dotty woudl probably be fine, mandarins dont really get in other fishes way anyway
