How Do You Use Filter Floss?

I just bought some filter floss and was wondering how should I put it in. Do I have to rinse it or something because I just stuck it in and now theres little tiny fibers floating around.

Scoop them out, but you could rinse it first. They shouldnt pose a big threat to your tank. As you did, I just whack it in my External Filter, but they could be placed in HOBs, or your Sump. Make sure to replace it when it starts to get dirty and clogged.

i can get a box of filter floss for 45p from wilkinsons and activated carbon for like £1.30 tis great for my filters and makes changing cheap

I bought some activated carbon too. Do I have to rinse that too? Or can I just stick it in?
