How Do They Keep Them Together?

My favorite pet store, Vitus, is amazing. I have honestly never seen pet store fish taken care of so well.

When they get in new fish, they will not sell them until they have been treated for any infections that they may have come with.

And they have absolutely stunning male betta.

I went in this past week and amazed to see this dark blue betta (whom I believe to have been a Rosetail) and he was in with no less than 15 female betta. My goodness that little man patrolled that aquarium and took charge over those women like I have never seen a male do before. He was by no means aggressive and even had a few that were always near him. At one point, a single female did try to start something up but as soon as he flared, she was gone to the bottom of the tank.

I then went to look at these smaller aquariums that had no filtration but were beautifully planted (possibly in a 1 gallon). There were various lovely betta and 3 tanks with stunning yellow males and 2 females each. A sign above them said that they only sold them in a trio as 'they are his girls and he would not appreciate going to a home without them.'

They were all very healthy and completely docile.

So, I'm wondering how they may have achieved this and I'm wondering if anyone else has done the same?

I personally would never have the guts to even want to try.

Chances are that the store picked the lesser aggressive male and just plonked him in the females tank. TBH, those females could and would kill him,he doesn't stand a chance if they had a pop. What people don't realise is that the females are more of the aggressor :good:

Oh dear! Well I trust in the fish-lady and think she'll take him out right away if she notices aggression or an aquarium opens up for him.
