How Do Nerite Snails Breathe?

I bought some nerite snails a few days ago, after doing plenty of research on the species of course. But, im curious as to how nerite snails breathe, the internet says that some snails have gills and some come to the surface, but they dont seem to say anything specifically about nerites.

The main reason for me asking this is because i have noticed one of snails has been on a certain piece of bogwood most of the day, and i dont want him/her to suffocate due to not knowing how to get off of the #41#### bogwood to get to the surface lol.

don't worry.. they have a gill! got me thinkin of Sonic for some reason when playin the underwater level and running out of air.. that stupid Tales always used to rob my air and kill me
