This may be a stupid question but when i put my background up on my tank it always seemed fuzzy cus the paper wasnt right up against the glass. When i did my water change last night i sumhow got water behind the tank between the paper n glass n in those areas the paper sticks right to the glass giving a very clear picture where the water is on the paper and it is stuck to the glass. Wat are some ways to get the paper right against the glass so that i can have a clearer background? thanks

I have use patrolium jelly, smear it all over the back glass attach the backing
and then use a wallpaper roller to get all the airbubbles out.

Do not get any patrolium jelly in the tank, and thoruoghly wash you hands afterwards as no to contaminate anything.

thanx, sounds messy but i will give that a try. The back of tank is a 4inches away from a wall so can i smear the pj on the paper itself?

I was lucky and did mine whilst it was empty.
You can try it the other way round, I'd suggest a paint roller that has a long handle, like the ones used for painting behind radiators, as you don't have a lot of room.

how does it look?
are you happy?
can you post a pic?

man I'm nosey :p

sounds a good idea, i can never get mine perfectly flat.

On my latest tank (5x3) i'ved silconed it on around the top and sides. this way it's not coming off and won't get water down the back anyway.

It looks like it is the glass itself. PERFECT!! I am very happy with it but i caint post a pic cuz i dont know how to post pics online. I dont know how to resize the pic but i do have adobe photoshop 2 n Microsoft picture it. N i also dont know how to post pics on forums n wat not. sry

so you just put petrolium jelly (I'm guessing vaseline?) all over the picture and then taped it to your aquarium?

Gotta try that, must be alot easier than getting water on there all the time...

I smeared the vasoline evenly on the glass then stuck the paper to it then took a case like a DVD case n got rid of all the air bubbles so it would look better.

Im curious to know how this has worked out.. :dunno: have you had to re-do it at any point?? Did it affect the fish or the tank in any way??
