Do you mean Bamboo shrimp? Do they have fan-like appendages that they use to catch food and put it in their mouth? If yes, I hope you have an established tank because they feed on micro particles in the water. If your tank is fairly new, you will need to crush up a very small pinch of spirulina and other "shrimp" food with a mortar and pestle so that it is like a powder and swirl a small amount of it into the tank every second day. These shrimp do tend to "disappear" in the tank but really they should be in the area of the tank that has the most amount of current. If you see them crawling around on the ground a lot, searching around, they are probably not getting enough food.

Now, if you have some other type of shrimp, then this whole paragraph is moot and won't apply.

Good luck

So are they Bamboo shrimp then? And, where are they hiding?

Maisy this isn't a personal attack but I've noticed a few 'How do I look after my ---' recently from you, I can't reiterate enough how important research is prior to purchase, never buy on impulse or you may find yourself with an undesirable occupant.

I have researched these mountain shrimp ,but expected them to sit in the filter flow with their fans out, whilst feeding,no h ide! mountain shrimp are just another name for bamboo shrimp, they`re hiding behind my wood on the floor

Is there a decent amount of current in that area? They won't sit right by the outflow unless your filter is weak but they usually sit a bit of a distance away. Are their fans out? If yes, they are ok. If the fans are closed, there may be a problem.

Hi ,the one is still hiding on the floor behind the wood ,the other one keeps coming out ,mainly on the floor [putting his fans in and out],hopefully they`ll setle down.

Hi ,got up in night and both shrimp had positioned them selves on the slice of cucumber hanging up in the tank, looked like they`d feasted well on it ,and then they hid again behind my wood ,they`re still there now but at least they`ve fed!
