how do i know when my female betta is mature enough to breed?

you will know if she displays vertical (NOT HORIZONTAL) lines from front to back. That's when she's telling you she wants to mate. I'm sure there are other ways, but that's the only way I know to tell

okay, those are different. They develop those lines when they are stressed. Did you just buy her?

When was the last water change?

WHat are the parameters?

Is there a filter in her tank? What size is tank?

Did you just vacuum the room or move her tank?

no she isnt ready for breeding the strips have to go the other way

she is probably stressed because ive just bought a new male delta betta for the tank next to her and when i have just done a water change in the male bettas tank i moved the plastic sheet from in between the two tanks and they saw eachother but couldnt get to each other, they were both trying to get at each other.
