how do i know wattage of new strip?

I bought a Perfecto double bright strip (2 - 24" fluroescent bulbs). The bulbs say they are 18 watts each. I was just wondering how I find out the max wattage bulbs I can use on this strip?

I think they only use 18 watts max for 24" lamp

I thought 24" bulbs were 20 watts each.... and 18" bulbs were 15 watts each. In theory you could take the cover off to see the ballast and actually read what the wattage is for it.... but I don't think you're gonna find anything above 20 watts in 24" bulbs.

T12 bulbs is 20 watts and T8 buld is 18 watts in 24"..

you can replace them with T5 tubes but you'll need a new ballast aswell and are 36Watts

it is a T8....does that mean the max. i can put in this ballast is 18 watts, or would 20 watts be the max?
