i got a clown knife yesterday and i dont think he has ate anything yet and looks rather slim. what should i do to feed him and how should i feed him it. i have cockles, mussles, lance fish, frozen bloodworm and frozen brineshrimp. i have beed told to stay away from live foods as they will expect them all the time. so what should i do and how should i do it.
thanks

did you ask what it was feeding on at the store?how big is it?
i would not be concerned about feeding if you only got it yesterday
lets see some pics :good:

only about 4".
i realy want to post some pics but my desktop has viruses on and im on my laptop what goes all funny with pics.
as soon as my pc is fixed pics will be on their way.
no i never asked i thought i had it all figured out after the reaserch i done on feeding. i got him for £3 which i think was a bargain.
he looks rather skinny.
will he eventualy eat.
what should i use
thanks again

ime clown knives are not fussy eaters just keep offering different foods and it will come around
its probably sulking because of the move
what size tank is lined up for this huge growing fish?

lol sulking haha. a 180 GAL is lined up for frederic lol. i will try some cockle tonight for him but i have only tried lance fish at the mo and he isnt intesrested.
so wish me luck haha. should i bury his food. i have read a thred on here saying he done that and it sounds like a realy good idea
thanks

I would just keep offering every now and then, but you do realise a 180g will not be big enough for him for long.

yes i know my uncle has an empty 280 GAL so i will be using that in later stages in his life. this still isnt fully big enough for him but i would assume he would be able to manage.
thanks for your help

once they settle they don't stop eating although the one I kept started on live bloodworm before finally relenting to frozen and then taking lancefish and even catfish pellets!!

that was 15 years ago and it was my favourite fish which I had to give up for uni. I'm after another one now

i have a 16-17" clown knife im trying to rehome :good:
it is really well behaved too

I'd be very interested too but how would I get him its too far to travel with a fish as I;m in north west but very interested all the same
