So I have a 5 gallon tank that used to house a male beta for seven years. Later on it House another male Betta who passed away and most recently it host 11 tadpoles. I’ll admit I kind of pulled a lazy move and didn’t clean out the tank in between fish. However I want to try and add some thing new to the tank but I need to know how to clean it out. It doesn’t have any gravel currently since I took that all out after the first beta died. Pretty sure the ammonia/nitrates are through the roof because I’ve laid letting it sit there with likely a few dead had balls for a month and I just realized I really should try and clean it up before I break the tank. Anyway how do I clean it? Should I use bleach? I know I shouldn’t use soap but I don’t know how/what I’m doing so here I am

Hi Lemon,
I would just recommend emptying out the tank and use some vinegar/water to wipe down the glass and then rinse it off really well... Then set it back up and make sure the filter has some good matured filter media in there. You want to be sure it is cycled somehow before putting fish in.
