How on earth do i clean off algae which is stuck on to external filter taps/connectors? I got am aqua one cf700 with atank i bought, and instead of just not using it, im gonna try it out. I put the hoses, spray bar, inlet strainer, taps/connectors in a solution of green hair algae remover with a bit of bleach too. Now none of the algae has come off but its sticking up in the water. I tried to scrub it off with a nail brush but its almost impossible!
Is there any magic way of getting algae off? I can buy new hoses etc, but the taps?

Soaking it in bleech over night.

Or

Soaking it in potassium permanganate solution over night.

You can also try

Boiling hot water.
Keep scrubbing!

After you've done all this, then find and treat the underlying cause of the algae.
