I was just on a site about the compatibley of saltwater fish, Everything I clicked on eith said aggressive to other fish, or crabs, or what ever, My question is how accurate is these lists, I have an Oscar, Algae eater, rainbow shark and a red devil in the same tank, Everyone ( pet stores) say I these fish can't be kept together.
I haven't deceided on fish yet but have an idea, I want a trigger, Clown, sea urchin, snails, crabs, and some live rock, With something like this work,
Do you have an odd couple that gets along fine, Thanks for the input.

They will work together but cautoin with the triggers.
Nearly all triggers are NOT reef safe or even fish safe to be honest. However there are a few that are.

Blue throat Trigger
Niger/Black/Blue Trigger

These are reef safe, i have both in my reef. A word of caution though, a NIger can grow.. I mean will grow very large so it needs a large aquarium to house it. If this space is not provided then they can become stressed and then aggression may set in.

Bluethroats are fine,. they are among the smallest of the trigers and are safe. BOth the nigers and Bluethroats are mainly plankton feeders.

Dont choose Clown triggers, undulates picasso etc.. these will make short work of your urchin and crabs etc.

hope this helps.

p.s.
what size tank do you intend ot keep these fish in?

Thanks, for the input. I was hopeing for a picasso trigger, but I want the other things more, I guess I have to keep looking for fish, Right now I have a 75 gal, The filter is on order and should have water and let it start cycling after I get back from Vacation in a week or so. I can't wait.
