I have several oddballs in my tank and am worried about my lungfish.

He hardly ever comes out apart from to suck air from surface and then he goes back and hides, I know hes nocturnal but how do I know hes getting the food.

I feed when the lights have gone off and about 10 minutes before I goto bed because by this time the other fish in the tank are full from their meals so all food falls to the bottom. My L.Pictus eats alot and so does my Niger but im a little concerned that maybe the lungfish comes out too late and its all gone.

Any advice, how do you feel your nocturnals etc?

thanks

Healthy fish will very rarely starve themselves to death so unless your lungfish is suffering from a disease then it should come out for food if it is hungry, as long as the fish looks in good health but doesnt come out to feed while you are watching then you can asume that it is eating when you're not there. I gave up feeding nocturnal fish seperately years ago and now do all the main feeding with the aquarium lights off but the room lights on so that all the fish have the best of both worlds.

Thanks CFC I thought that was the case. He looks healthy so thought he was ok but decided to get a second opinion.

Thanks again
